Out-of-towners

For out-of-towners travelling to our beloved city »

DATES

We suggest arriving on Thursday and leaving on Monday night (but we have pre-parties planned as early as Wednesday night).

TRAVELLING

For direct flights to Montreal, Pierre Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is the airport you should choose. Once you arrive, there’s a shuttle bus from the airport called the 747, which is $10 CAD and gives you access to the entire STM (public transportation) system for 24 hours. You can find out more on their website (link below).

Cabs have a $40 CAD flat rate from the airport to downtown as well. Uber operates in Montreal, as does Teotaxi. More information can be found on the internet.

From surrounding cities like Chicago, Boston, New York, Toronto, the best is to drive up and share the cost with other dancers.

HOUSING

When looking for a place to stay, our main venue École de danse JiveStudio is located in the trendy Plateau Mont-Royal neighbourhood. Closest metro is Mont-Royal, an 8min walk to the venue and 25min walk to the Quartier des Spectacles and downtown area. Also, the Montreal subway transit system is excellent for moving around the city.

We also have a housing coordinator. Please send a request to Lili Saz so that we can match you with friendly local dancers.

Housing is first-come, first-served, and is not guaranteed. We’ll do our best to match you with local hosts, but do have a backup plan.

Note: If you have space and would like to host out-of-town guests, please send Lili a note.
